Going through difficult seasons in life could be an opportunity to grow spiritually. Times like this is when it’s most important to remember God’s promises to us. What we see and what God says can often seem to contradict each other. But these differences reveal one of the major distinctions that should be readily apparent between people who do not know God and those who do. What God says pinpoints the hinge that separates hope from hopelessness, possibility from impossibility. After having gone through difficult experiences that he has allowed into your life, God has placed you in your office, in that classroom, in your neighborhood, or on the board of that organization for a reason! Those experiences create a point of contact between the promises of God that you’ve hidden in your heart and the people around you who are hurting. This week, look up one of God’s promises (listed below) and meditate on it. Send a note to your partner. Tell them what this promise means to you. Have you seen this promise fulfilled in your life? How can this promise be used to encourage someone else in the midst of their struggle and distress? (If you can think of a specific person in your life who may be encouraged by this promise, consider reaching out to them this week as well). This week’s Promise can be found at: DEUTERONOMY 31:6 |
