In this swap you will send a Rosh Hashanah or High Holidays greeting card or friendly letter to two partners. Don't know what Rosh Hashanah/the High Holidays are? Rosh Hashanah is the Jewish New Year festival, held on the first (also sometimes the second) day of Tishri (in September). It is marked by the blowing of the shofar, and begins the ten days of penitence culminating in Yom Kippur. The High Holidays or High Holy Days, in Judaism, more properly known as the Yamim Noraim (Hebrew: ΧΧΧΧ Χ ΧΧ¨ΧΧΧβ "Days of Awe"), may mean: strictly, the holidays of Rosh Hashanah ("Jewish New Year") and Yom Kippur ("Day of Atonement") This year Rosh Hashanah will begin on 18 Sep and Yom Kippur will begin 27 Sep. Please send all cards or letters by the 10th of September. |
