Description:

Lately, there has been a decline in mail being sent and the United States Post Office has been experiencing delays and has been denied government funding.

One way we can help fund the USPS is by buying postage.

For this swap read your partner's profile and go to the post office (or usps.com) and buy a 20 x $0.5 5stamp sheet that best matches your partner's personality and send it to them. There are many stamps designs to choose from. It will be fun to see how someone else sees you according to your profile.

Don't forget to write a note with the swap name and your swap-bot user name.

I assume that this would be for 20 55¢ one ounce stamps?

I don't think it'd be far if someone sends 20 1¢ stamps while someone else sends 20 $1.20 international stamps.

That's what i think it means ( 20 $.55 stamps). I would hope no one would send 20 1 cent stamps , but you never know. :(

This swap sounds really fun! Two things: a) I agree that the postage amount of stamps should be specified in the swap description (like 20 x $0.55 sheet) b) I'd prefer to buy postage from USPS through the online shop, because the post office near my house very rarely has interesting stamps, and I'm social distancing. In that case two weeks may not be enough time to order from USPS and receive stamps through the mail.

I'll be watching in the event you choose to make these changes =)

I was going to suggest the online shopping too - social distancing. I think you CAN order from the online USPS store and have the stamps sent directly to your partner. I haven't tried that, but I've ordered stamps online for years now (it's easier & I like the selection & avoiding long lines). I've always been able to track my orders from the USPS store, and would imagine it would work that way for sending to someone else.

But details like "55 cent or Forever stamps" really need to be confirmed in the swap.

Hello all,

Thanks for the suggestions. I appreciate all of them. I have made the change to specify forever stamps and added that you can use the online site too. Does the USPS allow for a gift note? I also added a week to the swap deadline. Do you guys think that is enough? The only time I had a USPS stamp order take a long time was at the beginning of the quarantine because everyone was buying stamps.

Postal worker here, you'll need to be even more specific in the swap. There are first class forever stamps (currently .55 for one ounce letters), postcard forever stamps ( currently .35 for postcards), and international forever stamps (currently 1.20 for 1 ounce letter or postcard).
