Let's create/make a junk journal for the beginning of summer! Make a journal for your swap partner with at least 10 pages + covers; so... you could fold 5 sheets of copy weight paper in half & then fold a heavier weight page to use as the cover. Bind however you like, but try to refrain from staples - they mess up your mailing! Okay, so now you need at least 6 pieces of paper (to make at least a 10 page book with covers) and lots of creativity! Use anything appropriate; junk mail, ads, menus, maps, book pages etc. You must decorate the front cover and at least half of the pages in your journal ~ you may leave some pages for your partner to finish off... If we stick to the size about 5x8" - that's a regular sheet of paper folded - and use lots of creativity, this should also be an inexpensive swap to create & mail as well. So:
** putting one little sticker and a sentence isn't filling a page & it's not fair to your partner ** I'm envisioning this like one of my junk journals with everything from glue book to smash book styles and drawings, paintings, recipes, poems, and daily musings all mish-mashed together! This can be lots of fun. {Here's a tip for those who like to create & keep their journals: make 2 & when you have ideas, you can "practice" in yours and this way you will have a visual memory of your technique...} I will angel if there are flakers, but that won't be necessary, right?? You may get ideas from your partners profile, but it is swappers choice for the most part, so you can begin journaling as soon as you sign up... |
