Description:

Just for fun we're going to swap one item that has been purchased at a thrift store or garage sale and embellished or altered in some way by you. Shapes might be an interesting variety so I'll just give a sort of guideline - It should fit in a large bubble wrap envelope or shirt size box. (Not too big, not too small - just the right size for your imagination!) So get out your paints, buttons, ribbons, beads or pretty much anything else you can think of and turn a thrift store find into a swap partners dream! Alterations on thrift items should be substantial, not Just a coat of paint. You can turn it into something else entirely if you want. The item should be clean and in good condition when you start.. and amazing when you finish! Make sure you're sending your partner something you would Love to receive. Newbie's welcome with a complete and detailed profile. USA swappers only, please. Edited to add: Include a note and let your partner know what you started with, what you did to it and what your inspiration was.

Can this be in mediums other than graphic or painting? In other words can we take something from a thrift store and make it into something else entirely? And does it have to be as big as a shirt box if it is something cool and substantial? I guess I am thinking that you could sew something from clothing found at the store, or make jewelry from something or some sort of paper item. I mean it could be totally unrecognizable as the original item or recognizable but totally altered?? I am rambling and it is late, sorry!!!

momoeight yes it definitely can be something other than graphic or painting and yes you can take something and turn it into something else entirely. Be as creative as you can. It doesn't have to be as big as a large bubble wrap envelope.. that's just a guideline to help keep the postage within reason.
