Description:

Let's swap a packaging tape postcard for: My Favorite Things

This will be what your favorite things are. You can use stickers, magazine clippings, paper, washi, anything with you favorite things on it. You can have one Favorite thing or many the choice is yours!

I love used postage stamps so for mine, if you are my partner, you might get a postcard with some of my favorite cancelled stamps sandwiched in between the tape, or since I love old vintage camp trailers, some vintage camp trailer imaged sandwiched between the tape. Does that make sense?

ideas: https://angrychicken.typepad.com/angry_chicken/2013/06/packing-tape-and-debris.html

Rules for the postcard:

1.It has to be made from packaging tape! The clear kind. 2. Put flat items in so that you can still see through your postcard--very important! 3. Put your swap bot ID somewhere on your postcard so we know who it's from 4. Address to your partner 5. Put on a stamp and mail (usually 2 first class mail stamps if it is thicker)

Super easy and so much fun to receive! I have found that putting 2-3 layers of packing tape on the back of my PC helps give it some rigidity. There are many types of packaging tape out there and there are some really good thick kind through 3M. Do not use laminating folders for this swap. The whole idea is to send something unusual and fun to your partners to make their day!

Now for the important stuff:

I check profiles. Newbies are welcome with a well filled out profile...meaning I need to scroll down to read about what you like and dislike. No recent 1's or 3's. I try to work things out with everyone when someone doesn't receive and I will angel.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

I'm just curious why this swap is a Type 2? I would of thought that since we are making the cards it would be a Type 3. Isn't Type 2 supposed to be little to no craft component.

So, I just tried to mail my cards & my post office wouldn’t take them! While they were amused by them, they said they would get stuck in the machines. So, sorry partners, I’ll have to put them in envelopes. Better that than they not show up. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Weird! I've mailed piles of tape-only cards (no stuff in between - you stick a magazine page to packing tape then soak it in water and rub off all of the paper; the ink image stays behind on the tape and you cover that with a second layer of tape), which you would think are even more likely to get stuck in the mail cuz there's not much substance to the cards for the machines to "grip". I find that post office seem to make up their own rules about what works and what doesn't with a fair bit of imagination rather than information to support their reasoning. Just my experience...

P.S. "Non Machinable" is a real postal designation so even if the post office deems an item as non-machinable, there is a 15-cent up-charge but they should still take it.
