Description:

Are any of you other magpies addicted to lists like I am? I love making lists - not just grocery lists and to-do lists, but I'm obsessed with the "Listography" books and my journals frequently contain lists of what I'm into at the current moment.

So, for this journal, you're going to complete 20 pages (one-sided), and at least 10 of those pages should include lists. Each list should include at least 10 items on it. The other pages can be anything you'd like - magpie goodies, ephemera or items that relate to the lists - the possibilities are endless! Feel free to get creative with your lists - if you want to include photos of movie posters instead of writing your top 10 favorite movies, go for it! If you want to include paint swatches or paint splotches to show your favorite colors, do it!

You can include any 10+ lists you'd like, but here are some ideas:

  • My favorite colors
  • My favorite movies
  • My favorite TV shows
  • My favorite songs
  • My favorite restaurants
  • Things I'd never eat
  • Places I want to visit
  • Things you're into currently
  • Things you plan to do this summer
  • Things that make you happy
  • Things that make you sad
  • Your positive qualities
  • Things you'd like to change about yourself
  • List of what's inside your purse
  • List of things you do daily
  • Things you'd buy if you won the lottery
  • Random facts about yourself
  • Packing list for your next trip
  • Things you're looking forward to

Like I said, the possibilities are endless. Get creative with it and as always, make something you'd like to receive yourself. Nothing sticky, dirty or smelly in the journal, please.

Have fun!

Hi, fun idea for a swap! I would love to join, but I’m not sure what I’m supposed to have the 20 pages in. Do I use a spiral notebook, an actual store bought journal or hand make some sort of journal for my partner? Thank you

@Butterfly1974 I personally hand make my journals and make them typically a little longer than the minimum pages required. However, I have seen people use small journals from the dollar store. Often the front is decorated and you will want to decorate quite a few of the pages. I would skip a spiral notebook, though you could use that, but it make make it harder to mail.

Johanna Clough is a YouTuber that has several easy to follow how to for making journals. I just make smaller versions of what she makes for these swaps. Her DIYs on hand made journals are easy to follow. I hope this helps.

Any size requirements for the journal?
