Description:

I enjoy doing Bible study devotionals, get a lot out of them and I thought I’d post a swap that would allow lots of people to participate without breaking the bank by purchasing books and/or DVDs. To that end, I did a Google search and found one that would work well for a Read-Journal-Share swap. This is on having bold faith and includes the following in the introduction: “What’s the biggest risk you’ve ever taken? … Our lives are often defined by our willingness to make bold moves. The Bible teaches that without faith it is impossible to please God, but with it, we can move mountains. … Over the next seven days, discover what it takes to make bold moves and ask God to show you yours.”

“Making Bold Moves: A 7-Day Devotional” is posted from a South Carolina congregation. Each day’s session has a Scripture text, a short reading, and two or three questions to reflect on. Although this is a seven-day devotional, the swap period will run over the course of a month, giving everyone time for the journaling aspect.

Please read through the entire swap description. We’ll be doing just three things – readinig, journaling and sharing -- but there are variations possible to suit each swapper’s preference.

Read:

Go to Making Bold Moves: A 7-Day Devotional”. Ideally, you’ll read one session each day, but we have time built in for when/iflife gets in the way. Read the day’s message and the day’s Scripture.

Journal:

The journaling is where our options begin. You can do any single method or a combination from among the following. Traditional journaling: You write (longhand, computer or your blog) your takeaways from each day’s session. Tell your partner what resonated with you.

Answer the questions: Each session ends with two or three questions. Answer at least one of them (feel free to do all!) with two or more paragraphs of writing.

Bible art journaling: Those who do Bible art journaling can pull from the Scripture, the session’s reading or from the reflection questions to do pages.

Faith journaling: Journal your thoughts from any of the session material in your faith journal.

Share:

Send your partner a copy of your journaling and a note saying what you got out of the 7-day study. Options here: photocopy your journaling or art journaling pages, scan and email, or send a link to your blog where your journaling on the study can be found. But you must snail mail your note on what you got out of the study.

As you read the Scriptures and the messages, remember that the Lord is always with you, especially in the times when you need to make bold moves.

NOTES: I am not a member of nor affiliated with this church and have never visited it. I came across their site while googling for a free 7-day devotional to send to a swap partner.

This swap is being cross posted on the Proverbs Women and The Christian Heart and Home groups.

Snail mail (with digital option as noted). International. Group membership.
