About 6 months ago there was a series of afghan square swaps. I joined in and found that I recieved some fab squares, but sadly many partners did not follow through. I would love to complete the quilt I started and hope that others in this group might also be interested in making a friendship afghan. Lets make this one an easy one to get us started! Lets make 2 6" squares for one partner. The wool should be 8 to 10ply Aussie (worstead weight, sports weight, or similar) so nothing super chunky or super thin - this way the squares should be consistent. They can be knitted or crocheted and in any pattern, so long as the finished size is close to 6" square so that they can be joined together in a quilt. The wool could be any wool/acrylic/etc combination, unless you have a particular desire for your squares to be acrylic so that it is machine washable. Let's make the start before christmas so we can craft over the holidays if we want! If people are interested, I would love to continue this swap with more partners and more rounds, so that we can ultimately each make a small quilt! Please list your colour preferences below! Let's make this swap newbie friendly, that is newbies to swapbot, or newbies to knitting and/or crocheting. So don't stress if your knitting or crocheting is not perfect, it is so we can all share, encourage and end up with a nice quilt. (I don't wish to discourage anyone, but I don't want to set expectations that you will end up with "perfect" quilt squares, cos I know that I am not a perfect knitter or crocheter!!!) I hope that I have provided all the information needed, any questions please ask! |
