Description:

I participated in a swap like this hosted by Lady Risa in another group and loved it. I always get sucked in by Halloween packaging and don't know what to do with it. Well, you make a trashy junk journal.

Minimum size 4 by 6 with at least 15 pages and 75% repurposed materials. Think cereal boxes, candy wrappers, magazine ads, mail, calendar pages, etc. For ideas visit Rosemary Frias Morris' Trashy Flowish Junk Journals group on Facebook or look her up on YouTube. I'm giving lots of time before the sign up so you can collect materials.

Don't be intimidated! They really are fun to create. If you have any questions or concerns let me know.

Excellent question from Prairiekittin...should the journal be completed or a work in progress with space for the receiver to journal and add to it. I think it could be done either way so wanted to see what you guys think and would prefer. Any thoughts?

I think I would more enjoy a work in progress.

Oops! I posted too soon.... I am an artsy and fairly capable in creating things, but I've never made a junk journal before, so a completely finished one would be very, very daunting for me. But an 'in progress' one (some finishing, maybe) would be comfortable.

Geez....please excuse the typo/left out word! Γ°ΕΈΕ½Ζ’

I'm so excited to do this swap! I like the idea of leaving it a work in progress - I'd love to see spots to add my own photos and comments to it. Gathering pieces right now for it!

I agree! It will take the pressure off and hopefully we will have more participants. So the journals DO NOT need to be completed. Leave spaces to add and complete by the recipient. Γ°ΕΈΕ½Ζ’

I'm so sorry, but I'm going to have to drop out. I keep getting more and more stressful 'busy-ness' in my non-swapping life and I need to step back from as many things as possible. I hope I'll be able to join a swap like this in the not too distant future.

I may bump the dates out for signing up and/or mailing if people want more time since this time of year gets so busy.

so I looked at "one"of Rosemary's trashy flowish journal video and it seemed to be just a booklet made with things for the recipient to take everything out and use in their journals. Is that what we are doing or are we making a journal for our recipients to use? DorothyH

Make it a journal to use. Of course you could add some pockets with goodies of you want. Hope that clears it up. Γ°ΕΈΕ½Ζ’
