Description:

Hello fellow writers!

This is a swap for journal/writing prompts.

You will send your partner 30 prompts that have been either typed or written neatly on strips of paper.

When you sign up for this swap, please comment below with the following information:
* are you religious? if so, what religion?
* roughly how old are you?
* do you have/want children?
* Using the movie rating system of G, PG, PG-13 or R- what is your tolerance level for prompt content?
* are you married/ in a committed relationship?
* anything else you feel pertinent (optional)

Once partners are assigned, check your partner's comment and use it as a guideline for what sort of prompts to send them. You do not have to tailor the prompts to them exactly, just make sure you are not sending prompts that the person cannot answer.

For example, do not send an athiest bible verses. Do not send someone without children prompts about their children. Do not send single people prompts about the best things about their spouse. And so on.

(To be extra clear, if your partner says they are fine with R prompts, and you only want to send G prompts, that is FINE. If your partner is religious and you are not, you do not have to send them religious prompts, and so on.)

IN ADDITION, no more than 5 of the prompts can be quotes unless your partner indicates they really love responding to quotes.

This should make sure everyone gets some prompts they can actually write on.

Housekeeping

No ones owed to active members. Threes will be scrutinized.

If you have an extraordinary circumstance regarding a poor rating, message me as soon as you sign up so we can talk about it.

You need to have at least 10 type 2 or 3 ratings to join.

If you would like to hold a newbie friendly or international version feel free. I don't feel like dealing with that right now.

If you have not commented with your info below before I go to assign partners, I will drop you.

If the word around the street is that you're a jerk, I will drop you. If you have an issue with someone in the swap, shoot me a non emotional PM so I can look into it.

Finally, yes, this is a fairly short turn around swap, but it really shouldn't take that long to do.

edited to add:

when I assign partners I will be deleting any comments below that are not pertinent to the swap so people can actually see their partner's answers.

Also, this swap inspired me to start a writing group so check that out if you want.

  • Religion: Pagan
  • Age: 34
  • Children? I have a teenage boy
  • Rating: R
  • Status: Married

I would prefer prompts for stories/fiction rather than journal prompts. 'What did you do on Thursday' prompts don't really work for me. Song lyrics and quotes are great, however.

This sounds like a great swap. I'm looking forward to it!

I'm also loosely Buddhist, but trying to tighten that up :) age: 42 two kids: 7 and 5 rating: nothing offends me married.

we should do another swap that involves answering our prompts!

Atheist 29 years old No children, no plans for them anytime soon Fine with "R" ratings Married for 8 years <3 Anything else: animal lover, teacher, any pop culture/90s nostalgia/TV related prompts would be loved.

  • Jesus Lover
  • 39
  • Yes I have 8 children (4 boys, 4 girls)
  • PG-13 or under please
  • Married :)
  • My pen leans towards creative non fiction...however I love this prompt idea and it would be neat to get some prompts towards a topic/style that aren't what I would usually write about :)

Thanks for hosting this~ I think it will be fun!

  • are you religious? No. I consider myself agnostic.

  • roughly how old are you? 30 years old

  • do you have/want children? I have a stepson.

  • Using the movie rating system of G, PG, PG-13 or R- what is your tolerance level for prompt content? Any.

  • are you married/ in a committed relationship? Yes, I'm married.

  • anything else you feel pertinent (optional) I am mostly a creative writer and enjoy prompts that I can turn into a short writing piece. Quotes and pictures welcome. I am doing a journal swap right now so any journal prompts are fine too but I prefer ones that are more geared toward being artist instead of "Describe your favorite food" or whatever. Writing exercises welcome.

I was raised Baptist, but my mom says I'm a heathen. Mid-forties, One teenage girl, You can go from G all the way to R, Divorced

Try to stay away from any prompts that seem pretty common, I would love anything really original.
