Description:

This is going to be an ongoing swap as we work our way through the alphabet. At the end, should you participate through the whole swap, you should have a nice selection of new recipes to try out and add to your menus. You could even take this opportunity to make and decorate a lovely recipe card box, or perhaps have them bound into a mini cookbook. It's all up to you. It would be nice to see pics of what you've created on Instagram.

The details of the swap are this. You will send each of your partners two (2 different) recipes that fit the given letter theme. All recipes are to be written, typed or printed on (or attached to) to a 4" x 6" card. You may use a standard 4" x 6" index card (any color, lined or not), or attach recipe to a piece of decorative card-stock. Feel free to decorate the "recipe card" in some way if you'd like (keep them flat, do not add dimensional embellishments). Just be sure to place the name of the recipe on the card, and include all of the necessary ingredients and instructions. Be creative with the themes, but try to only use recipes you've tried before.

Some of the themes given are pretty broad so feel free to choose what you like as long as it in someway adheres to the original theme.

You will have 3 partners for each leg of the swap, for a total of 6 cards for each leg. Keep in mind you do not have to wait for partners to be assigned to start planning and creating your recipe cards. The entire list of alpha themes will be given so you can move ahead if you'd like. You will have to sign up for each letter, and have new partners assigned.

If you are feeling ambitious you could tell your partner a little background info on your recipes, but that is up to you. If there are any questions please feel free to contact me. I'm leaving this leg of the swap open to all who want to participate. This would be great for Newbies to get started with an easy mailed swap. I will angel if necessary, but anyone who does not fulfill their swap will be banned from later legs. This is going to be a lot of fun!

I'm keeping this as a Regional this time around to hold down postage costs.

So do we start with the letters A B and C??

bethmcv 07/28/2016 #

Hello there. Each swap will be one letter. This one is for A. So it will be 3 partners, 2 cards each with recipes from the letter A options. I'm sorry about the wording. I will be sure to make it more clear in the next one. I'm looking forward to this swap, as I'm planning a really cool little cook book with the cards.

Sounds awesome. Now we attach them to card stock, does it have to be the same size as the index card?? Or a lil bigger, I just want to be sure i meet the requirements

I'm sorry I hadn't seen this last comment. I've been away for a few days. The finished card should be a total of 4" x 6". This way all of your cards will ultimately be the exact same size.

So must we use the listed items (apple, appetizer, etc.) or can we use anything that starts with the letter, "A" in this case?
