Description:

We all have different strengths and interests, so I came up with the idea of a Blind Best - Sender's Choice Swap. When I floated the idea in group message I had several people respond excitedly.

I thought the best way to do this would be a smallish, flat swap, so it could be an international swap and still be relatively inexpensive to ship.

You will create 1 item to send to your partner.

Select your favorite fiber medium and craft an item. Fiber medium can be knitting, crocheting, felting, weaving, paper, beading, etc. If you have a question about what would be considered a fiber medium, post it below. I want you to feel free to push the boundaries a bit beyond just knitting and crocheting and show off any fiber adjacent skills.

Things that would be appropriate might be a book mark, a large scale tag, a decorative coaster, a pair of earrings, a brooch - but it must be created in a fiber medium. I might, for example, create a felted "painting" for my partner or knit a form and add beading to create a brooch.

Your item should be able to be shipped (mostly) flat and in an envelope no larger than 8 x 10. It should be a smallish item, but skillfully crafted.

Please include a note with explaining your choice or why you love the medium you chose. Make sure your name, swap bot Id, and the swap name are included on your note.

For cheaper shipping, DO NOT INCLUDE EXTRAS. Just send the swap and your explanatory note.

This is a sender's choice swap and your item should be created BEFORE partners are assigned. There is ample time to create and even recreate before I assign partners, so have fun!

Rating:

If you receive a smallish, flat, well crafted, fiber based item, you will rate a 5.

You do not have to LIKE the item, but please look at the care with which it was created for someone and appreciate the effort. :)

BEST - This means no loose threads, unfinished edges, something you'd gift to a close friend.... and be proud of presenting.

If this is something that excites you, we can do it as a reoccurring theme and possibly larger swap. I'm hoping by extending parameters, we will excite some of you lurkers and you will show off your skills!

(No image on swap - because it's Blind and I'm too stupid to upload any of the ones I picked apparently lol)

Will we have to rate a 3 if someone does send extras? ;)
