Type:None
Last day to signup/drop:October 15, 2016
Date items must be sent by:March 30, 2007
Number of swap partners:3
Description:

For this swap we will fashion a single tarot card/fortune tellling card and send to three partners. How you want to design your card is completely up to you; the only real guidelines are: the back side of the card should be a neutral design and the fortune/tarot side should be capable of being reversed (i.e. the image should have a right side and a wrong side). 2) the design may be painted, drawn, stamped or ironed on, but it must be flat. So no 3-D glue-ons. (Stickers and other flat add on decorations are fine). For the sake of having a uniform deck please make the dimensions of each card: 11cm x 6mm (approx 4.33 by 2.36 inches)

On a separate piece of cardstock or paper you should write a brief description of the card's meaning in both its upright and its reversed positions. Example: let's say I design a card that features a rat. I might say that the upright position means ingenuity during hard times, survival at all costs, etc. The reverse meaning might be failure to make one's way. Again, it is up to you how you want to structure the cards. As long as we have a good group of participants I plan to run this once every month or so for the indefinite future so that those of us who want a "pack" will have one.

This swap is open to international participants. Please do not sign up unless you have a rating of 4.5 or higher and have sent all of your swaps. Feel free to contact me with questions.

Happy Swapping!

Ashley

Above is my card from last round, just to give you an idea of a possible theme. It was called "volute" and I associated it with listening, introversion. Its reversed meanings are associated with the need to gather one's energies, to look inward. For those of you who participated in the last swap, feel free to upload your cards here. I was never able to upload my design on the last swap page.

Looking forward to doing this again.
I wasn't able to upload images either. Has anyone queried this with Swapbot?

do you have to make 3 different cards or three cards the same for each partner

mapps 02/25/2007 #

It is up to you tarotwisdom. Last round I made three of the same cards for each of my partners (i.e. I sent one card to each with the same motif).

AYA! Thank you a thousand times for the magnificent card you sent. I am going to round up my camera and recharge it so I can post a picture of your magnificent work (if that is okay with you). Outstanding work!

Nicole: I don't know your Swap-Bot name to message you, so I hope you see this. Thank you for the gorgeous card, and the beautiful envelope too! I've just started carving stamps, and your work is very inspirational.
