What is a maximum postcard? In philately a maximum card (also known as a maxi-card, or maxicard) is a postcard with a postage stamp placed on the picture side of the card where the stamp and card match or are in concordance. In most cases, the cancellation is also related to the image on the front of the card and the stamp. (this text is copied from Wikipedia) How will we make our maximum card? Choose a used postage stamp, and make your postcard in the same subject/ theme. Put the used stamp on the frontside of your handmade card, and handcancell it with one of your own rubber stamps. Because this is a handmade maximumcard swap, your 'postmark' doesn't need to look real nor match the theme. As long as the postcard and the used stamp do match. The used postage stamp on the frontside of the card does not need to be from your own country. Send your card written and stamped. So no envelope, plastic sleeve or full laminating. Make your card sturdy! No unresolved 1-ratings. |
