IMBOLC (Candlemas) Feb. 1-2 Brigid's Day. Not common to all Pagans, this is very popular with Wiccan’s and various Celtic sects. Imbolc is a Celtic festival marking the beginning of Spring. Most commonly it is celebrated on Feb. 1st or 2nd. Brigid is the Celtic goddess of Fire and inspirational Hearth & Home Deity (Poetry, Smithcraft and Healing) as well as yet another representation of the Fertility of Femininity and Love. The holiday was, and for many still is, a festival of the hearth and home, and a celebration of the lengthening days and the early signs of spring. Celebrations often involve hearth fires, special foods (butter, milk, and bannock, for example), divination or watching for omens, candles or a bonfire if the weather permits. Hello Sisters! For this swap, you will send 1 partner THREE items from the list below, in honor of Imbolc. Some of you may celebrate by cooking, decorating an altar, or honoring the Goddess Brigid. My hopes are that we can all receive some lovely items to use in our own way of celebration on this lovely Sabbat. Whatever you choose to send, make sure you send it with love and gratitude! ~A Brigid's Cross ~A Brigid's Crown ~A handmade gift symbolizing the Goddess ~An Imbolc recipe that includes dairy in it. Spongecake recipes are also popular. Check online for more information. Write it on a nice recipe card or index card). ~5 servings of hot tea (bagged or loose leaf) ~A seed packet. Kudos if it's of daffodils, narcissus, snowdrop blossoms or similar flower. ~One white pillar candle OR one white taper candle OR 3 white tea-light candles for our Imbolc altar ~A crystal of turquoise, garnet, onyx or amethyst. ~A handmade card or ATC utilizing the colors pale green, pale yellow, white and bright red only. ~A small cauldron or chalice (she is connected to sacred wells and springs). ~White feathers (real or fake). ~A poem. Brigid is the patroness of poets. You may write it or send another author's work. ~Any healing herb. Brigid is connected to healing rites. ~Faerie artwork or statue. Brigid is the sister of the Fey. ~An altar cloth that is white linen or cotton. Spring flower embroidery on it is appropriate. You must hold at least a 4.98 rating to join this swap. Please check your partner's profile for blatant dislikes or allergies. Send your items with care. You have 2 weeks to send out your swap. Please do not join this swap if you cannot commit to sending your partner a swap with effort and love behind it. Message the group founder @Tiffaknee with any questions, comments or concerns.
