Description:

Rather than Pocket Letters based on subject, I decided to host some based on techniques. The first will be stamping.

  • 1 Pocket Letter to 1 partner
  • Use stamping (rubber, acrylic, handcarved erasers, etc) on at least 5 of pockets.
  • Pockets should be fully-decorated; meaning the decor isn't meant to be removed. No pockets should have just an un-embellished piece of paper in them -- or be completely empty -- after your partner takes out the goodies. Papers with stamped images are embellished, thus acceptable. :)
  • Include 10 stamped images at goodies. No more than 2 of the same stamp. Decision to send further goodies is sender's choice.
  • Short note or long letter in one pocket.

Open to all in the group in good standing.

Please also suggest techniques for upcoming swaps!

Not quite sure I understand...l we are to stamp the actual pocket as to when goodies are removed, pocket is still stamped? Sounds like a challenge.....

We will use stamps in the decoration we put in the pocket. People usually put decorated paper in the pockets; so stamps will be one of the things we use to decorate the paper. Does that make more sense?

I love the idea of this swap, hence I asked to join the group! I just want to make sure I understand the guidelines here... I think of pocket letters in terms of:

front of pockets - back of pockets - stuff if anything placed into the back of pockets (remove able)

thinking of it this way can you please clarify for me? thank you so much!

Ok...stamped items it is! I think I get it! Funny thing is, I have actually stamped the outside of the pocket... sounds fun!

@Hag53 - Inside the pockets, visible from the front, is where you put your decorations (front of pockets). None of those should be empty or just plain paper. At least 5 of those need to be stamped in some way.

For goodies, the 10 stamped images are required; anything else is gravy. ;) You put the goodies into the pocket, behind the decoration (back of pockets). A short note goes into the back of a pocket too.

Please let me know if this all makes sense!! :)

I totally get it! thank you so much for breaking it down for me. I've already started gathering stamps for this. I'm trying to hold out for my partner so I can include something they might prefer. this is a fantastic idea!
