Description:

**This swap idea comes to us from @DixieDiane It's being hosted in another group, but I thought it sounded like fun for our group too. :) **

What we'll do is this:

  • Start with a Christmas card, used or new.
  • Tape 2 sides of the card closed. These 2 sides, along with the natural fold, will leave one side open. It will either be the top or the bottom depending on the card orientation). This creates the pocket.
  • Into the pocket put some papery items from your stash (stickers, pretty papers, recipes, punch-outs or die-cuts, decorative tape samples, etc.). Sender's choice on items; they do not need to be Christmas related.
  • Add a little happy note to your partner, perhaps telling her to take time to breathe and remember the "true reason for the season."
  • Stuff the pocket until it's a little puffy (aim for 1 to 2 oz/49-71 cents).
  • Tape the pocket closed. This sealed Christmas card pocket will be sent Ò€œnakedÒ€ through the mail
  • Address the plain side to your partner, add appropriate postage, and off it goes, to brighten your partner's day.

I edited bullet item #2 to give a more detail about creating the pocket part.

This looks very fun. And, you don't even have to say decorate the envelope! Thank you for hosting, Beth.
