Description:

I used a tiny tray with a little water in it & then added a little Pearl Ex & mixed it up with a paint brush. The more water you use the lighter the paint will be for the shimmer. I would say I used a little less than 1/4 of a teaspoon of water & enough Pearl Ex to cover my paint brush twice.

On your standard size ATC, paint in both directions. Immediately rub in circular motions with a paper towel. You should now see a shimmer & no brush strokes.

Let this dry & finish the ATC any way you want. Be sure to attach this to a sturdy background.

One partner will receive one ATC.

I used copper on light tan paper for the sample in the upper left. I used white cardstock with copper on the upper right. For the 2 on the bottom, I used gold Pearl Ex. The shimmer doesn't show up real well in my samples but they are shinny. The gold worked the best.

This was a fun technique & I will be playing with more colors. I hope you do too.

Hi, Pearl Ex does need something to "glue it" with. It is not like the Perfect Pearl Medium that has a fixing agent in it. It may rub off. I actually bought some Gum Arabic powder to mix with the Pearl Ex so that it will permanently stick to the paper. That was what was instructed on the box the set came in.

That is good to know. So far tho. mine has not rubbed off.
