Description:

Greetings, Sisters!

For GWE's first swap, I would like us all to get to know each other a little bit. There's no better way for us to learn about ourselves, and our partners, than by writing letters. Writing is not only a great way to share some of your beliefs with your fellow sisters, but also to help YOU learn more about yourself. Have you ever sat back and asked yourself what exactly it was that made you want to be pagan? I know we have all been influenced by a number of things, but what was that defining moment, experience, place or event for you? You will be surprised what you can learn from yourself by diving into memories of your past and putting them to paper.

For this swap, you will write a letter to one partner about why you chose to be pagan (or why it "chose" you). I'm not going to put a length/size requirement on this; let it be an introduction to your partner or a "free-flowing thought" letter. Tell your partner whatever you wish to share. If you don't feel 100% comfortable sharing some things about yourself, just leave them out and write something else about yourself, like where you grew up or what your passion is.

This should feel fun and relaxing, not like an assignment.

Also, to show thanks to your fellow sisters, you will send your partner one Fall surprise gift with their letter. You can base it off their profile (always kind) or just outright surprise them with something you think they would like. Your gift can be handmade or store bought, but keep in mind that if it's handmade, it ought to be something you could "wrap and gift". I'm also not putting a price requirement on the gift, but make sure your heart is in the right place when sending it.

Some examples include: ~A small chakra candle or hand-poured candle ~A fresh bag of incense or home-made sachet ~A bag of loose leaf or box of tea ~Some cozy butter socks or hand/foot cream (cruelty-free, always!) ~A censor or other votive holder/incense burner ~A pentacle or other related ornament. ~A Fall or Mabon/Samhain related stamp and inkpad ~A sage or sweetgrass bundle/smudge

Please do not send flat mail items as a gift (i.e. bookmarks, sticker sheets, PC's, etc.)

Wrap your gift nicely and put it in a small box or cushion mailer with your letter.

You will have one partner and 2 1/2 weeks from the sign-up deadline to send your swap. Please do not flake. If you run into something that will interfere with you sending on time, please remember that a little communication with your partner will go a long way. Also, this swap is international, but I do not think we have any international members in our group yet. Have fun!
