There! I Fixed It!

Everyone has seen those amazing thrift store item makeovers that are all over the internet. This swap is going to give you a chance to turn ‘ew’ into ‘awesome’. Each swapper will go to a thrift store and find something to make over. Take a before picture to print out and send along with the finished product, then get to work making the item amazing by fixing or upgrading it in some way for your partner. Some ideas for projects could be turning clothing or linens into a pillow or tote bag, adding your own art to a painting, decoupaging a picture frame, giving an ugly figurine a new paint job, turning a book into a book safe, combining brooches or necklaces to make new jewelry… The ideas are endless and if you need inspiration, Pintrest is just a few keystrokes away. Once your item is made over, package it up securely - especially if it could be broken in transit (bubblewrap is your friend!) - and send it out. Be sure to include the before picture and a note including the swap name and your name. There is no price minimum or maximum on this swap, but please be sure to send out something you can be proud to have your name attached to. Also, while this is not a profile specific swap, please check your partner’s profile for dislikes and do not sends. It would be sad if someone who hates glitter, pink or owls got a sparkly pink owl figurine and nobody wants a sad partner. This could be a pricey swap to mail so it will be US only - Canadian swappers with US mailing addresses welcome to join though! If an international version is wanted, I'll host a second version as well.
