I used to do this on greetingcards, but it looks fine on postcards too. You need: 1) plain color of cardboard (I used brown) and a piece of paper in the same color 2) large different plain color of paper (I used yellow) 3) 2 different pieces of decorated (scrap) paper 4) nice image/illustration The card exists of three parts: card, border and image. Each part exist of 3 layers of paper. First part (the card) exists of 1) the cardboard color from about 4"X6" 2) the colored paper a little bit smaller than the card 3) decorated paper a little bit smaller than the colored paper. Second part (the border) exists of 1) a border of decorated paper, that fits on your card from the left to the right 2) colored paper on both sides a little bit wider 3) second colored paper on both sides a little bit wider. Third part (the image) exists of 1) the image/illustration 2) colored paper on all sides a little bit wider 3) second colored paper on all sides a little bit wider. Put the border-part on the lower side of the card, and put the image-part on the upper side of the card, with a small overlapping on the border. I hope the swap-image explains clear :-) Make sure everything is stuck well ( postal system proof) and send it written and stamped (without an envelope). |
