Description:

This is Round 2 of the A Writer's Journal swap. If you were in the first round, it's not time to pass along the journal you received.

If you're new to the swap, see below on what this is about. It's not too late to join the journal fun.

Snail mail. USA. Group membership

Writer's Journal

Step One: Go buy a journal. Preferably a lightweight one since its going to be sent back and forth a lot. Consider how long you want your journal to travel before returning home to you. (For example, a composition book is pretty large and has a lot of pages and could take much longer to return home to you.)

Step Two: On the first page (or inside the front cover) write "Send me home to:" and your name and address. When the journal is full hopefully it will come home to you.

Step Three: flip five pages in (Because those pages will hold swapper's addresses) and then start writing. Offer challenges, inspiring quotes, maybe even paste in some pictures (or draw if you are artistic), tips you like for improving your work, etc. When you feel your journal has enough (two pages minimum but you can write more) send it off to your partner.

Step Four: Receive a journal with useful things to help you as a writer. Photocopy or jot down the things that strike your fancy or that you'd like to try out. Then, add your own pages of challenges, prompts, inspiration, photos, etc., before sending to the next person in the next round of the swap.

Step Five: Write your name and address in the journal if you'd like the next writer to have an option to use you as a pen pal, accountability or creative partner, if not just sign your name and the date.

NOTE: If you receive a journal and have no intention to pass it on, please send it home so its owner can keep it or find someone else to send it to. Thank you.

I have not received a journal, maybe soon...?

I see I'm not the only one who types "not" when I mean to type "now".

I sent my journal to you yesterday, June. So hopefully you should get it soon!

A journal went out to my partner this week (Monday) via media mail. Enjoy!
