"You will wrap the tapes around the cardboard or plastic, etc."

so the idea is to make a tape roll out of cardboard? or? if yes would it be best to put some packaging tape first and then the deco tape on top? so you dont spoil any deco tape.?

Silencio 08/ 4/2008 #

Wait do you mean we should use an empty plastic tape roll?

CrayonMom 08/ 4/2008 #

I think the point is to wrap the tape in such a way that it can be unwrapped and used by the recipient... So the packing tape would be a good idea if you use a porous surface.

Thanks ^^

yes..panda2778 has explained it well.. =)

Me again, would it be okay if I just put the tape on sticker paper/plastic that stickers normally come on?

iamred 08/ 5/2008 #

yes, that would be fine =)

What I usually do is take the the plastic cover off a 4x6 memo pad. Then I cut it in to 1inch (2.5cm) by 6 inch (15cm) strips. You start wrapping the tape around the 1 inch direction. You can usually get about 5 or 6 deco tapes all lined up on there. From 1 4x6 pad cover, you should get 4 inch strips. You can make them smaller or larger, but you get the idea.

If you don't have access to that, then you can take a piece of cardboard, wrap that in regular packing tape, and then use that.

I don't think the sticker paper thing would work. You need something more sturdy.

just curious is this the same as a "Deco" swap?

iamred 08/ 6/2008 #

this is not a "deco" swap...

this is a DECO TAPE swap.. =) deco is short for decoration tape....

Also do the tape have to be kawaii brands? or just cute? because if it has to be kawaii brands I have to drop out.

iamred 08/ 7/2008 #
