Description:

Since this could be a pudgy little package, USA-only to help keep postal fees low.

Let's share some nice fabric scraps for this swap! You know, for those small craft and piecing projects. Send your partner enough cotton cuts to comfortably fill a zip-type, plastic sandwich bag (scrap quantity will vary by scrap size, of course, but do include at least 6 different fabrics). It's sender's choice, but feel free to eyeball your partner's profile for ideas.

All scraps to be:

  • 100% cotton
  • clean and new/like-new (includes no smoky odor)
  • cut rather than ripped
  • at least 4” x 4”
  • sender’s choice

FYI, zip-lock sandwich bags are roughly 6.5” x 6” in size and will help protect the scraps from winter weather. If you prefer to use a larger bag, that's fine -- just not a smaller one.

One partner. One baggie of clean cotton scraps. Have fun!

☆ I review all profiles with a checklist before assigning partners. I’m happy to angel if you’re flaked on, though. Simply let me know after you attempt resolution with your partner but ultimately rate them a 1. Problem Swapper FAQs

Ok, maybe silly questions, but....

  1. Do the scraps need to be cut to fit the baggie width or smaller, or can they fold over to fit? I have a "small" scrap bin and a "larger" scrap bin that would have bigger pieces (but smaller than fat quarters --- I have a bin for those too ---- man, I've got scary issues)

  2. Do the scraps need to be nicely squared/rectangled up, or can they be odd shaped/angled as long as the main chunk of the fabric is at least 4x4? I never square up my scraps, I'm lazy like that, and i hate feeling like I wasted lil bits....but I totally will if there are fancy people in this swap ;)

Good questions~
The scraps may be folded. And they don't have to be squared up, but do send usable cuts. They're scraps, but not junk-worthy, right? :-)

Thanks for the quick response! Ok, I'll start going through my bins tomorrow, woop woop. I have even had to talk myself out of starting a "teensie scraps" bin...I only allow myself to save a few handfuls of teensie scraps for ATCs or little crafts. I don't think any sewer can actually throw out scraps without sucking in their breath, or crying a little on the inside, right? My fabric tastes have changed so many times since I started sewing so I should have plenty of different fabrics. Love this swap idea
