Description:

Do you like paper? Do you like to sew? Do you quilt? If your answer to any or all of these is YES, then this swap is for you.

For a visual demonstration of this, please check out the following tutorial:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ImkJye3Ss8

Step 1: Cut out 8 1" squares either using your scissors or a 1" punch. The papers can be co-ordinating or totally random. You will find that once you start punching, it will be hard to stop and you will just want to keep creating these wonderful babies!!

Step 2: Glue them down in a 2x4 formation on plain copy paper.

Step 3: Using a zig-zag stitch (free hand or sewing machine- your choice), sew straight down the centre, then the 3 central seams. Start on the white and finish on the white. Do NOT sew around the outside yet.

Step 4: Trim all the white paper away, leaving the decorative quilted squares

Step 5: Using double sided tape, adhere this to a tag . Tag must be approximately 2.5" x 4.5" and can either be home-made or store bought.

Step 6: (optional and not in the video). You could choose to NOW, zig-zag around the entire outside of the quilted squares. In my opinion, I love this look, but I will leave this as optional.

Step7: Add ribbon or lace to the tag.

Step 8: Add some embellishments/bling to your tag.

Step 9: On the back, add your SwapBot ID and the name of this swap along with a positive word or 2 that inspire hope for 2015....eg Peace, Beauty, True Courage (you get the idea). This is the name of your tag and it could be related to the type of paper your choose (vintage) to use or the color (pretty in pink).

If there is enough interest in this swap, I hope to make themed quilted paper crafts (we could extend it to cards and ATC's) in the future as well as increase the number of partners.

If you are anything like me, you'll have a whole lot these made. They are addictive as they combine several very popular crafts in one sitting.

I am allowing 2 weeks to sign up and making it sender's choice so that you can get crafting ASAP. I will also make it 10 days to the deadline.

If I've missed anything or if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Have fun and I can't wait to see what you all come up with!!
