Description:

A number of newbies have expressed interest in Artist Trading Cards, so this is one in a series of monthly artist trading card swaps. These swaps will help you learn to construct an ATC with minimal requirements for artistic ability. One card to one partner.

The only two rules about ATCs are:

  1. They must be 2.5 x 3.5 inches in size. (64mm x 89 mm)
  2. They must never be sold, only traded.

Okay, are you ready for the swap requirements?

Don't be scared. :)

  • Cut your card stock to the correct size (see above). If you want to make the card extra sturdy, glue a second piece of card stock to the back. For this swap, your edges should be cut neatly and evenly.
  • Feature an autumn leafl - or more than one! - on your card stock. It can be stamped, cut-out, hand drawn, or any other media except a sticker. There are many wonderful leaf images available to you, and they are also easy to draw, so I want you to use your paints/markers/crayons/art media instead of resorting to using a sticker.
  • Add whatever other elements to your card that you like - text, brads, eyelets, papers, inks, etc.
  • Turn your card over and write the name of the swap, your name, and the date on the back.
  • Send it off to your partner on time. This is part of the swap requirements. If you send late, your partner can rate you a 3.

Rate promptly and accurately.
Communicate with me and your partner if there are problems.

Can the leaf be a real one thatÒ€ℒs glued/stapled/sewn/attached to the card?

TC 10/ 2/2014 #

@pne , only if you use a method to seal or preserve the leaf. I've learned from experience that real leaves eventually dry out and turn to dust.

@TC ah, that makes sense. I hadn't considered that :(

Do you have rubberstamp pads? In Autumn colors? Gold?
I have collected small, tiny leaves, & carefully patted the leaf onto a rubberstamp pad then pressed the leaf onto colored papers, pulled leaf off, what is left on paper is impression of leaf. In this way you need not worry about gluing real leaves, having them fall apart. Tiny weeds with leaves, ferns work really well - printing with rubberstamp pad, along with the small tree leaves.
Tiny tree leaves - look for these on small & dwarf trees.

Just a quick question..can it be ANY leaf instead of specifically autumn leaf? It's just that it is spring here in Australia......

Amira, yes, let's keep with the autumn leaves theme - even though swappers in the southern hemisphere are having spring. :)
