Description:

Some of you may recall I did a similar swap in another group about a year ago. I love zentangling but am terrible at it, so here is a technique to cheat at it. lol I will try to find time to make a quick sample before the sign up date so you can see what it looks like.

Take a plain, white envelope of mailable size (no minis).

Cut a piece of card stock the same size as the front of the envelope.

Divide both the front of the envie and the card stock into 4 by drawing straight lines midway horizontally and vertically. Use a felt tip pen to make clearly defined lines on the envie, and whatever you like on the card stock.

On the card stock, cut out ONE of the 4 sections and discard the cut out piece. The piece with 3 sections on it will be your "mask".

Gather 4 different rubber/acrylic stamps with smallish patterns (or lots of detail) and a black ink pad.

Using your "mask" piece, cover 3/4 of the white envie and stamp the quarter section that is exposed using black ink only. If you need to stamp more than once to cover the quarter, that is fine.

Continue to move the "mask" around and stamp the other three quarter sections, each with a different stamp and using black ink only.

Do not add any hand drawing or colour.

You might find it helps to insert a piece of smooth cardboard inside the envie as you stamp to avoid "bumps" from the cut out envie back.

Finish by adding a mailing label of your choice smack in the middle of the envelope front so it looks balanced.

Inside, please write a friendly note to your partner, telling them about your experience using this technique.

Have fun! (";)

P.S. If you are adventurous and want to try different shapes than 4 equal rectangles, please feel free. Me, I'm going to stick with something simple.
