Ephemera stash I NEED ... I WANT ...
Swap Coordinator:Angie (contact)
Swap categories: Art  Ephemera
Number of people in swap:12
Location:International
Type:Type 3: Package or craft
Last day to signup/drop:June 21, 2014
Date items must be sent by:July 12, 2014
Number of swap partners:1
Description:

For this swap we're going to send each other a 4 x 6 inch envelope with ephemera inside trying to fulfill our partners WISH/NEED list.

As you sign up for this swap, add your list in the comments below of what type of ephemera you WISH you had more of or you NEED in order to survive. Ha ha ha. List 5 items.

To send, you will make the best effort possible to send your partner at least 3 out of the 5 things s/he lists. Include some extra ephemera for your partner based on his/her profile. Shoot for around 10 things with some variety.

If for some reason you can't fulfill 3 out of 5, contact your partner and see what else you can send them that will make them happy.

As you list your wishes and needs, don't get too crazy. Don't request a letter from Napoleon. You're NOT gonna get THAT!

I've kept the envelope down to the 4 x 6 inch size to keep the postage costs reasonable. Remember though, if you stuff your envie really full, it will cost more than a single first class stamp. Be sure to include enough postage.

Does it go without saying ... use a real stamp not those metered things from the post office?

Examples of ephemera you might list:
Anything red
Handwritten letters
Ledger paper
Maps
Menus
Tickets
Library stuff (cards, pockets, check out slips, etc.)
Book pages
Music pages
postage stamps
tags
labels, stickers
matchbook covers
bits of ribbon
tokens, keys, charms
business cards
cut-outs from magazines or books
playing cards (don't send common ones)
game pieces
photographs
pieces of cool packaging
old postcards or greeting cards
tags (shipping, gift, etc.)
etc., etc., etc.

PLEASE DO NOT SEND COMPUTER PRINT-OUTS OR PHOTOCOPIES. SEND ACTUAL EPHEMERA.

Be sure to include your name and the name of the swap so you can get rated.

Have fun!

EDIT If you have a somewhat exotic list definitely list more than five items and try to include items that will help keep postage costs down (flat).

This is proving to be a bit challenging. I see some of the lists and I'm not sure if I could send 3 of the 5 items. Hmmm. If you care to ... add a few more items to your list with an additional comment.

So, in addition to mine above ...

book pages especially foreign language

G45 and Tim Holtz are not ephemera. Those are modern day reproductions. Perhaps we can hold another swap for those goodies (they are gorgeous) but they're not authentic ephemera.
