Description:

Are you already weary of your New Year's resolutions? Here's your chance to make some absurd/funny/weird ones.

Don't you think every collage artist needs a box of words? Here's your chance to use, or start, your very own.

Create a postcard on which you have pasted words from books, magazines, junk mail, whatever, that spell out one or more New Year's resolutions. (More is better.) Or words you make with a label maker. Or words you print out. Or words you assemble, ransom-style, out of individual letters. You can use the format [verb + adjective(s)+ noun] as illustrated in the picture, or any format whatsoever. Your resolutions do not have to make sense. You can number your resolutions, or not. You can use pictures for some of your words, or wherever you like. Make the background out of whatever image(s) appeal(s) to you. Use mostly collage, and other media can be added as you wish.

Mail your postcard naked.

Hint Ò€”> If there's a word or two you need, but you can't find it anywhere, try this: Go to myfonts.com and put your word(s) in the sample message box for a font you like. Make a screenshot and print it. That's how I generated "EAT more HOLY wombats." =grin=

Note: The background for the above image is from a pattern by Jennifer Parry Dodge, found in The Pattern Box: 100 Postcards by 10 Contemporary Pattern Designers Ò€”a highly recommended resource for cool patterns to use in collage.
