Description:

Infinity scarves have been popular for a few years now, but this year they seem to be all the rage as I see them everywhere I go!

Since they are very easy to make (especially if you use a video tutorial), this is a beginner level swap, but experienced scarf makers are certainly welcome to join too!

The nice thing about them is that you can sew, crochet or knit them - and there are even tutorials out there to make them simply by cutting a horizontal strip from an extra large t-shirt!

To assist your partner, please post below at least 6 colours that you like from this list (no qualifiers such as "light" or dark" please):

  • black

  • grey

  • white

  • beige

  • brown

  • green

  • blue

  • purple

  • red

  • pink

  • orange

  • yellow

Please do not make any requests beyond your 6 one word basic colours, and do not request any colour combos. If you do not post your colours by the time partners are assigned, it will be totally sender's choice.

So for this swap, we will make our partner an infinity scarf by either sewing, crocheting or knitting (not cutting up a t-shirt though! lol).

The technique and material to be used is sender's choice.

In choosing colours for your partner's scarf, you may incorporate other colours into the mix as long as their listed colour(s) is(are) predominant. You may also use one solid colour if you prefer.

It is sender's choice which shade of a colour you wish to use. For example, "blue" could be anything from navy to royal to cobalt to turquoise to baby blue.

There are hundreds of tutorials out there, so just google "sewing crocheting and knitting an infinity scarf for beginners".

Have fun!

Just some ideas to make construction of a fabric scarf easier:

  • If you use double knit or jersey or fleece fabric, you only need one thickness because these fabrics do not ravel when cut. Just cut your required length of fabric to the required finished width and sew up the ends.

  • My friend finishes her double thickness fabric scarves by zigzagging the two ends together, rather than having to turn everything topsy turvy and inside out to sew the final seam.

Since this is a beginner's swap, you may use either of these 2 methods if you prefer.

Please do NOT embellish the scarf in any way as this design does not lend itself to that.
