If the item arrives late, then it did not meet swap requirements. Therefore it should not be rated a 5. In that case, a 3 would be the appropriate rating. It is not fair to the swapper who DOES meet the requirements by sending it on time, to rate the late swapper with a 5. JMHO

^^ True.

Also, @jessi1221 - Are these ATC to be made by me? Or are we trading (others' ATCs)?

thebragal 06/28/2013 #

ATCs are a craft and should be a type 3. Letters, store-bought PCs and bookmarks, sticker sheets, note sheets and pads, these are type 2. Also all caps is very hard to read and can be considered shouting. Please don't use all caps.

jessi1221 06/28/2013 #

There I have changed it. hope everyone is happy. and also caps doesn't always mean shouting, its only how you take it. I hope everyone has fun with this swap. anymore advice feel free to share

jessi1221 06/28/2013 #

All ATC's will be made by you. nothing already made.

sammie91 06/28/2013 #

If the atcs are SENT on time, but arrive late, then it DOES meet the swap requirements. We ARE NOT responsible for the post office mistake.

Houstongirl - I disagree with your comment. Sometimes there are extenuating circumstances that force something to send late and if that person is considerate and let's you know ahead of time, then rating them a 3 anyway is really not ok IMO. What's more is that I personally have received several swaps that showed no real effort - so I still have to rate them a 5 just because they sent by the deadline? Makes no sense.

user2637 06/30/2013 #

@sammie91 yes. Sent on time is what's important. Must've been sleepy when I read @Houstongal s comment.

I changed the swap dates in hoping that more people will join. See all these other atc swaps...not sure why a lot of people are not signing up for this one any advice please share.

user2637 07/ 2/2013 #

Perhaps it's due to the other swaps having a theme?

jessi1221 07/ 3/2013 #

I figured that a mystery atc swap would be fun because it will be a surprise in an envelope. I will try themed swaps in the future. Thanks

This is really a cool swap but I can't join because I live in Europe. :(

You know, you could always say something like "I reserve the right to change the due date" That way you can push it back a two or three days for someone with a good excuse for being late. I would rather get a late card than something rushed for a 5.

i have in my profile that due to migrains i am not always able to get swaps out on time. i do email my partner. also even one 3 out of over 100 swaps will mess up someones profile forever as some swaps require 5's. i do not worry about when the swap that come to me show up. i also never check the sent date on anything. if something doesn't arrive i will email the person. people have been very understanding when i am running late and also when i get my dates confused. i thank everyone for that. it allows me to be relaxed and put work into what i send, rather than just shoving something in an envelope. i do get that type however i don't get many. the vast majority of them show lots of effort and are well worth the wait if they run late. i am very reluctant to give out anything but 5s. the repercuions of rateing lower are very high. and that should be considered before rating someone down. i am doing this strickly for fun. haveing to stress over being on time every time would make this very not fun. sorry for the lengthyness. my 2 cents seems to be strechted pennies

@jessie1221 sometimes I feel mystery swaps might be too open. People want more direction, often. And as for me, whenever I join mystery swaps I get all pink & flowers,& then have to find a swap to trade then away since pink & flowers are yucky. Which is why I asked if this was for trading. :)
