Description:
Here's a somewhat easy zine swap to start off your International Zine Month Celebration! How it works: Drawing a Blank is a zine where you fill in the blanks. For this round we are playing a counting game! One - six...come up with that many somethings to write in the blank and illustrate. Ex. two ______ Fill in the blank so that now it says "two shoes." Then create an illustration featuring two shoes. This was an example. For your zine do not use shoes. ;) Print off the template. Fill in the blanks, illustrate, and decorate in any other way you like. Once partners are assigned I will e-mail a copy of the pdf for easier printing! If you would like it sent ahead, just contact me and your wish is granted! Have fun!

Must the template be used exactly as is, or is it okay just to use it as a guideline (eg keeping same layout of a number per page but with own text/formatting)? I have an idea for this, but I'd definitely want to do it 'my way'... ;)

@TangleCrafts That would be fine! I'm pretty flexible. ;)

Generally the idea with this sort of thing is that everyone is starting from the same point but fills it in differently. Since there are no starting images or shapes I can't imagine it being a problem to design it yourself as long as you follow the perimeters of the original.

I have already started working on mine. I will be following the parameters of the template.... but the words will be interspersed throughout the pages.

For anyone wondering, the template is there as a guide and you are more than welcome to use it. Since this one does not have any specific images that we are working from please feel free to create your own design. All that is necessary is that you have a cover with the title "Drawing a Blank," six "counting" pages (1-6), and a back cover signed by you.

If you have any other questions please do not hesitate to ask! I will send out an e-mail when partners have been assigned. ;)

Do the things we count have to be drawn images? I want to glue in objects. Is that ok?

@soyprincesa2 just saw this! That should be fine as long as there is definitely a creative effort involved. ;) Let me know if you need me to extend the date a day or so since I am late in replying!
