This swap has 3 components to it. First you will make an envelope out of something sturdy enough to take everything your going to throw at it. Some suggestions are heavy map paper, cardstock, heavy magazine paper, file folder, very thin cardboard from a cracker box or other similar box. Regular envelopes will probably not be sturdy enough so make sure you use something with some strength to it. Then your going to go all out and add several medias to it. Paint, Collage, Stamp, Colour, Ink, Embellish, Emboss, Stencil, Stitch, Glaze, etc. Use at least 4 different medias to create your art work. For the sake of argument, stamping with a rubber stamp (homemade or storebought) is one media, ink rubs are another and coloring with a sharpie or other marker is another, but please DO NOT use only ink in the creation of this project. There must be some BODY to your finished creation. Please ensure that any embellishments are attached in such a way as to survive the mail system... its very disappointing to receive damaged goods in the mail if it could have been prevented on the senders end. Once you have created your envelope and have made it one you would love to see in your own mailbox, then your going to skip on over to your partners profile and give it a read to discover something they would like to find inside that envelope! If they like letters; write them a letter. If they like postcards; tuck in a postcard. If they like notecards; add one.. and so on. You get the idea. Keep in mind that due to the nature of the medias and body of the envelope and such, this could cost a little more to send if you get an international partner. The only restriction to envelope size is the minimal size for mailing which is 3.5 x 5 inches (I think this applies to most countries but double check if you aren't sure) Oh yeah.. and have fun! :) |
