Description:

Please make one ATC for your one partner. ATC must be made using something recycled. It could be as simple as using a recycled materials backing like a cereal box or recycled paper/note card/book pages, the inside of an envelope, or fabric, or beads, etc. So many ways to recycle when making an ATC.

January's ATC Theme: Chunky

Each month is themed. Please incorporate the theme into your ATC, in some way. For this swap, Chunky means a thick ATC, often with thick embellishments, and/or materials. You could choose a piece of reclaimed wood for your backing or to add lots of embellishments. These often are to fat to fit in to your standard ATC sleeve. Here are googled images.

An ATC is sized 2.5 x 3.5 inches. Please sign and date the back, with your artist info. The purpose of this ATC challenge is to make interesting artistic ATCs, while recycling, not to just glue the items of the month on a card.....for example if the theme is flowers...do not cut out from a magazine 1, or even 20 flowers, and sloppily glue-stick them to a backing and call it an ATC.. These are miniature works of art. Have fun.

Discussion

Based on the link you gave, a chunky ATC is built on a slice of 2x4 wood so it's REALLY chunky. Is that what this swap is? Or just anything too chunky for a sleeve is considered chunky for this swap?

Neither, though it can be one or both . It can be made from wood but is not required to be. It can be too thick for a sleeve, but that's not what makes it considered Chunky. Chunky is just a thicker then the usual paper atc. It could because of the substrate (like wood, clay, fabric, mat board, etc ) used or it could be because the embeliishments you use, or because of many layers, or the thick paper flowers, or beads, or bottlecaps, a nail,or crocheted, or felted, or a million other ways that would make it :chunkier" then usual. I hope that helps...and didn't make it more confusing. ;)

It's like a little work of art, I love it!

Thanks Wolfeagle - that helped. I'm willing to go either way with chunky embellishments, or a block of wood with little feet might be fun also (love those you linked to!). I just wanted to know what the expectations were for this swap and you answered that very nicely.
