Description:

For this swap you will create one book made from at least 4 paper sacks. You can get a package of them from a dollar store. I know there are those out there that have made these before. They are really easy and a lot of fun. Decorate the pages using coordinating papers. Make sure there is plenty of room to either journal or add pictures on each page. They can be of the same color scheme or from the same collection of papers. Also, please use some embellishments on the pages; such as flowers, gems, brads, stickers, rub-ons, ribbon, lace, inks, etc. Also, please include some journaling or mats for pictures to tuck away inside the opening of the bags. You can bind your book in your choice of bindings. Try to keep the books less than 6 x 6. This will make it easier for shipping. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me before you sign up for the swap. And remember to make a book you would want to receive. Please include a message with your package.

This is a great swap. I would join if I could, but I'm new to this site. Anyway, kudos to the coordinator. I love this idea.

Paper bag books are one of my "specialties", lol! If you want to see what a couple of mine look like you can see me You Tube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pLVcD-VCPfs

This video is a great tuorial showing how to make a very simple paper bag book mini (if you can stans listening to this kid talk, he makes me crazy, although his vids are extremely popular!: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MGfH9f9HW3w&list=UU5TnW9DgROp4fYtMwWjXcHw&index=296 This album uses only three bags and can be put together very fast. It has lots of real estate (places to put pictures), and if you use the large paper bags from target, the book is 6x6, which makes cutting the paper super easy.

Sorry that these are not links, but I don't know how to do that! If anyone can convert them to clickable links, that would be great!

Edit to my previous comment: the paper bag books that I make with three bags are quite bulky themselves, but can be made with any number of bags, so you can make them with 4 bags as required for the swap!

I'm new to this paper bag sack book idea....loved the tutorial on it. I do have one question. Is the journal part for me to journal or my partner? Same with the pictures...do I add the pics or will they? This is going to be cool!

roaddummy 12/28/2012 #

The journaling will be done by your partner. The first one I ever made was strictly for pictures. The current ones I am making are for a mix. You can use them strictly as a photo album or just journaling. You can also do a mix or use it as a smash book. They are really neat to make and give as a gift. Now I am in search of more papers to make new ones!!!
