Description:

This is the first part of what will be a 2 part swap. In this part you will mail your partner some supplies which they will later use to create some mail art for the second part. So what can you send? Items typically used for mail art such as:

  • any colour ultra fine Sharpie

  • cool pieces of ephemera (no garbage!) **see below

  • flat metal charms (remember, must be mailable)

  • fibers

  • postcards

  • postage stamps

  • small pieces of fabric (must be at least 5 x 5 inches)

  • pieces of scrapbooking paper (again must be at least 5 x 5 inches)

  • washi tape or other decorative tape

  • Cricut or similar machine cut outs

This list is only for suggestion and if you have other items not listed here but would be awesome used in mail art, feel free to include them!

**ephemera: ephemera is such a wide and diverse subject I thought I should include a list of acceptable items.

  • book pages with words or images
  • cool labels(must be complete, not torn)
  • tickets or ticket stubs (travel, concert, sporting event, etc)
  • used greeting cards pieces (some awesome wording or pictures)
  • business cards with cool graphics
  • small cards such as those used when sending flowers
  • playing cards
  • junk mail (please be reasonable with this one, only if its COOL!)
  • address labels
  • decorative paper napkins
  • ledger pages

This is by no means a complete list. Maybe you have a really cool piece of ephemera that would make awesome mail art but haven't been inspired to use it yourself. :)

You must choose at least 8 - 10 pieces from this list and package them up in a sturdy envelope and mail them off to your partner. :) All items MUST be usable and in good condition. Your partner will have to use these items in the second part of this swap to create some mail art so be considerate and only send items you would be happy to receive and use yourself!

Sorry no newbies this time around.
