Description:

I've bitten the bullet, and jumped in the deep end...I've created a journal swap!!

I know a few people have said they've wanted to join journal swaps, but with postage prices as they are these days...would rather it not be international.

Okay, so what you need to do in this swap is go out and buy (or use one you already have) a nice journal. Make sure it's something that you would like to recieve. I bought one the other day, A5 with 100 pages, so I thought I'd use that as a basis. If it's A4 it can have a few less pages if you like!

Now get creative!! If you're good at drawing, include some sketches...if you're good at poetry, write something lovely. If you like photography, include some photos! Or, if you're still searching for that hidden talent , include some of your favourites of all of the above. Whatever you feel like putting into this journal, throw it in! Cut out some things you found interesting or funny out of magazines or newpapers, and include them. You don't have to do an entry per day, so as many pages as you like or spread it out...however you like.

Okay, rules.

Please give credit where it's due. If you use a photograph that's not yours, include the photographer's name (or at least the website you got it from) either near the photo, within the design of the page, or make some sort of reference index at the back.

Keep in mind that everyone in this group have their own experiences, and their own sense of humour. Don't include anything that may insult or hurt your partner(or generally rub them the wrong way) like religion, death or abuse etc. Let's keep those out of this swap.

I'd like to keep extras out of this swap please. I'd much rather if people threw all their 'niceness' into the actual journal. If you're aiming for hearts, make the journal personalised or put lots of extra work into it.

One last thing...ratings. If you don't recieve anything within one month of the send date, send a message to the person who you're supposed to be getting it off a message, just asking if it's on it's way, and when they sent it. If you get no answer or they are rude after a message or two, rate a 1. If you recieve an incomplete or simply lazily done journal, rate a 3. If it's a full journal with every page with something on it, and it came within a reasonable amount of time, then you must rate a 5, even if you don't like the style(unless it goes against the above rules). These journals are "An outburst of the creator's life and thoughts." (made that up myself hehe), so just keep that in mind!

Any questions, leave a comment or send me a message!!! I can't wait for this! There's lots of time to get ready for it, you can make it before partners are assigned, but this can be risky. So I've allowed enough time to make it before partners are assigned(2 months), and also enough time for after partners are assigned(another 2 months). Everyone in this group are welcome to participate in this swap! I won't be able to angel this one, so if anyone would be willing, let me know...but hopefully we won't need one!! HAPPY SWAPPING!!!

edit I'm changing the send date to September because I would much rather the journals be done slowly and carefully. You don't have to wait until then to send the journals out obviously, just send it when it's done!

Before I sign up I have a couple of questions please.

  1. do we decorate every page, eg. all 100 pages?

  2. Do we copleatly cover the pages or leave room for our partner to add journaling?

Hugs :-)

Completely smother every single page with your personal brilliance. =)

Oh, and you don't have to go out and buy lots of crafty things...you can put in magazine clippings, drawings from you, things you found on the internet written out...you don't have to spend much on the inside of the journal at all, just spend you creativity not your money. =)

Well unfortunately, I'm gonna have to pull out. I made the big mistake of glueing stuff onto my pages and have now ruined my book:(

Oh no! That's terrible!

I'm tossing up on whether or not to extend the send-by date even more...I know i haven't even thought about what to put in mine yet. =S What do you all think, more time?
