Description:
For this private swap we are going to indulge our love for postcards while playing around with the postal service a bit. Let's call it mail art science ;) For a whole month, we are going to send each other a postcard on or around the same day of the week. Cards must be store bought and sent naked. Sender's choice, but make sure you are not hitting your partner's "dislike" list. Postcards are meant to be read, so write something readable on it. There is enough going on in the world to make small talk if you are stuck on what to write. Here is the sending schedule: Monday 6 Aug - 1st card Monday 13 Aug - 2nd card Monday 20 Aug - 3rd card Monday 27 Aug - 4th card Aim to send out within a 1 day period of the send by date on either side. Just giving some allowance for Life. Rate when you receive the last card. Record when you a card in this swap's comment section - do this for all 4. Then we can see how fast they travel between the countries. It's also a great way to keep your partner's nerves in tact - that's 4 cards in the mail after all ;) Have fun, be nice and let's get swapping! (Making this a Type 3 swap for the effort and commitment involved, even if it is flat mail)

Updating on the first day back from an internet-less life in Namibia:

Sent off postcard #2 and a surprise extra one via Dad on Tue last week. Heaven knows when the secretary will pop it in the post... Hopefully by the week's end last week.
Received your postcard last week too. So beautiful! Want to visit Brabant so badly now :)
Sending off card #3 today to get back on track.

I got the third card today! Thank you so much for the great Castle. I love. The second card is still travelling though. I think your dad haven't post it yet because i see the first and third card travelled really fast.

I received the second from Namibia, the extra and the 4th card today. I love all 3 cards. So we can say that postcards from South Africa to Netherlands is taking 4 days (all 3 cards exept 2nd) Don't know exactly from the second because we don't know exactly when your dad posted them.

Woohoo! Got the last two cards today. I love the illustrated one - it's getting displayed in my craftroom for sure :) I would love to come and see Geldrop - it looks like a gorgeous place. Adding it to my "list of things to do before you kick the bucket" i.e. bucket list :p
