Description:

Alright tabletop gamers, out of the closet with you!

I love playing a few sessions of old school D&D, or Dungeons & Dragons for those who may not know, every now and then. And am always interested in D&D things! So for this swap you will have one partner and will be sending a package with a minium of three D&D items. Examples: dice, dice bags, toys, minis and the coolest suggestion I've heard; a completely rolled up, fleshed out character for your partner to play in their next game!

There is no spending limit, as things can be handmade or store bought, you just have to send three items. I should clarify though: for example, three dice are not three items, they can be one item and then you must send two others. Feel free to leave suggestions for your partner in the comments but don't expect them to go by them. I would say if they send three DIFFERENT kinds of items that are D&D related give them a 5 and if they send something you requested or think is really great give them a heart! Please send as you want to receive!

Decided to make it international. So everyone is welcome! No restrictions but banning will occur if your history is really bad. Feel free to message me if you're concerned about it.

I'm excited to see how many here still tabletop. Have fun with the swap! Thanks.

I'm desperately looking for the D&D children's books that came out around the mid '80s. There is a few different kinds. So you would be the coolest if you managed to find some in a thrift shop or somewhere! Stuffed toys/dice and plastic mini's are great to distract my almost 2 yr old during our games. For me; character sheets, dice, ok so anything is awesome! I just love D&D!!

I was a freshman in college when D&D swept the country. I was too busy, too buried, and frankly a little intimidated by RPG-based gaming. I love ANY tabletop game: Scrabble, Monopoly, Pictionary, cards, paper football, etc. LOL I have tried other RPGs but the hardest part seems to be holding a gaming group together. Despite bribes of food/drink, it seems the "Personalities" (esp'ly among adults my age) just always get in the way of the game. I don't want to WIN; I just want to PLAY. (It's more about socializing than competition for me.)

Still, I have my 2 pewter figures, a bag of 10 assorted dice (I still get them confused sometimes), and some really great character sheets. A couple of my characters remain vividly 'alive' to me. Maybe one day (perhaps inspired here) I'll find some folks besides my game-loving SO to play with. [ps: I detest online gaming.....I know enough about programming to distrust that venue altogether.]

We still have a group that play (3.5 ed) every other week. I don't care how much of a geek I must be, I love my D&D...

AmigurumiNymph 02/22/2008 #

I've been missing my group. I moved home to Washington a couple of years ago from Alaska and had a really great gaming group here when I left and a really great gaming group up there. When I got back here though, the people that I had been gaming with were scattered to the four winds and I am now left alone with just my boyfriend for the gaming activities. . . . Somewhat bunk, as he does indeed prefer the online gaming at this point. However, I still do a little bit of gaming with my uncles and my step-dad. They've been playing since the original D&D came out and they've never stopped. It can be a little intimidating at times. !_!

AmigurumiNymph, i know how you feel. my husband and his friends have been playing almost 20 yrs... compared to my active 3. god, i'm such a noob! :)

What a wonderful swap idea! I've so very much looking forward to it :)

ralesiah 03/ 4/2008 #

so Gary Gygax, the father of D&D so to speak, has passed on. anyone else as sad as I?

Gayle 03/ 4/2008 #

I'm very sad about it, yes. He gave so many of us so many hours of enjoyment, and that giving will go on long past his last day. He'll definitely be missed.

Hi everyone, with the blessing of the coordinator I am entering this swap for my D&D loving 15 yo son. I will be making sure he sends a good package out to his partner and I just wanted to let folks know who they would be swapping with. He will be happy with anything, but gave these suggestions: human minitures, dice, any 2nd edition books. This will be fun!

teamwang 03/11/2008 #

ralesiah 03/11/2008 #

teamwang 03/11/2008 #

kaypendragon 03/12/2008 #

Ralesiah - I actually had one of those d&d books - found it in a second hand shop in london, but I think it might have escaped my bookshelf and moved on. If I do find it, I'll send you a message though!

ralesiah 03/12/2008 #

Okay everyone, this swap is now international. Spread the word! Thanks.

renaemarie 04/ 4/2008 #

Would it be ok if I have my son participate in this swap ... under my name and supervision of course. He's 12 and ADORES D&D. I would make sure that he creates a nice package.

ralesiah: I've joined the D&D ATC swap, but that doesn't mean I'm not bouncing up and down waiting for THIS ONE to start up. Just posting in case any other "ATC addicts" are here and interested. I'm thinking this will help me dissipate some excess energy.

Oops! I forgot to include [the link] (http://www.swap-bot.com/swap/show/14724). I'm adding the link to this one over there too.

AmigurumiNymph 04/16/2008 #

Hehe, CADLady, I was just about to post a comment here about my ATC Swap!! ^_^

ralesiah 04/16/2008 #

ticklemenani 06/ 4/2008 #

This is a great idea... I play from time to time with my husband, he writes for Paradigm Concepts. I drive him crazy because I dont "get into it." I the socializing with friends, the dice and painting minis! ;o)

Rogue 06/ 9/2008 #

I'm sooo excited about this! I play D&D (old school box set D&D, FIRST EDITION!) with my dad, but I have no one else to play with, and it sucks playing wiht one other person. >.< I would love to however, receieve some new dice (To further my collection). I could always use some new dice that aren't d6. ^.^
