Description:

Size for this swap edited to read 1/2 page (5.5 x 8.5) so the page will fit in a 6x9 three ring binder and mail in a 6x9 envelope.

A new idea for a CF swap was proposed by @violagirl I thought it was a really good idea, so I have decided to make a swap for it! It is a long term project, and I think that it can be really special. So let's get on to the description! Please read carefully to get all the details.

This is the start of a friendship book swapping group. Each person will have their own book, which may be a 3-ring binder or any journal book of your choice. For each swap, each person will send/receive one page to insert into her book. Each swap in the series will have a theme. You may choose to participate in one or all of the swaps.

Now, this first swap is cool, a combination of art-journaling (visual expression which may or may not include words) and also a short letter about yourself. Let's get on with swap #1 - Testimony

For this swap you will make one page (5.5 x 8.5 inches) for one partner. This page will be an introduction of yourself. It should be mostly visual and you will include a pocket on your page to insert your testimony of how and when you came to know our Lord. See the link below for ideas for the pocket.

Your 4x6 inch page should be firm enough to hold whatever you put on the page and a pocket. It will be a visual expression of who you are in your Christian life. Incorporate a pocket on the front page to hold the letter you will send. Sign the front of the page or pocket. You do not need to decorate the back of your page because the page will probably be glued in a book of some kind.

You may use paint, collage, stamped images -- any medium. Stickers are allowed, but they are not to be the main focus. Anything goes, but take some time and express yourself. This will be senders choice because it is about "you."

For some ideas here is one website click

Please post questions in the comments section and additional websites of interest. I'm making this a longer time frame for sign up so we can all get used to the idea and ask questions. Please ask questions because it sounds more confusing than it really is.

This is kind of a new idea for a swap, so I anticipate discussion. Please ask questions. : )

Thank you @violagirl for your suggestions. I think the editing makes it more clear.

I posted in the forum about this swap. Please read the discussion there also.

I'm on watch right now...I'll experiment abit before I decide...would you use like card stock for the 4x6 or something sturdier? never did this before so I want to do it right :)

Good question @DixieDiane - You can use the same weight backing you would normally choose for an ATC. I also think a 4x6" piece cut from a cereal box would work well. I'm glad you are considering joining in.

I decided on a light cardboard and got that together (without glueing yet) and I found a pocket for my testimony but I don't like the idea of folding my paper so small...I don't like wrinkles or folding with paper for some reason-I know, I'm too fussy :) Now I'll have to work on the testimony-never wrote one before.

There are three of us signed up at this point and three watching. It is not to late to say let's go bigger on the page. Please go to the forum under the FB swap w/testimonies, etc. thread and let's discuss if you want to go bigger.

I did post at the group forum-whichever size is ok with me....half of a full page size or 4x6
