Description: | |
This swap is for a somewhat elaborate and unique creation. You will make 1 gothic Valentine inspired necklace for 1 partner. Something that can be worn close to their cold, icy heart. You never know, it might even melt it : ) The necklace must be handmade by you and related to ValentineΓΒ΄s Day in some way but with a gothic twist. I'm not saying no to hearts and flowers, just use the dark-hearted kind. Think Victorian gothic styles, lockets, filigree hearts, anatomical hearts, black lace, gothabilly, Day of the Dead skeleton couples, skull cameos, old horror movie monster couples, black or blood red roses, red crystal blood drops, black crystal tear drops, dark vintage beaded creations using gothic colours such as black, dark red, blood red or red & black. It can be made from a combination of beads and chain, different style chains, layers of chains, dangling chains, a mixture of different glass, stone, shell, pearl or shaped beads, nuggets, baubles, rhinestones, charms, even up-cycled vintage necklaces. I'm sure you can think of other ways that look good. What I'm trying to say is DO NOT just hang a pendant on a ball chain or thong. The pendant should be around 2 or 3 inches including any dangly bits. Check your partners profile for their preferred necklace length and any dislikes so you make something you think your partner will love to wear. Please spend time and effort creating a stunning necklace that your partner will be proud to show off. You do not need to use expensive supplies but make it special. After all, they are your bloody valentine so what better time to spoil them with a decadently dark creation. Do not use kiddie-kraft, wooden or plastic beads. Check out ''gothic valentine jewellery'' or ''gothic necklaces'' on flickr and etsy.com for great handmade inspiration . I will check profiles before assigning partners but as this is a group swap there should not be any problems. Any questions please feel free to ask. |
