Description:

Edit...Edit... You make a standard ATC 3.5 x 2.5ins size cross stitch and a 1x1 inch cross stitch. Now, the technical is out of the way. Here is the fun part. You are to cross stitch an ATC and an inchie size fabric and back it on cardstock so you can tantalize your partner by putting the name of the pattern as the Title of the ATC and also the designer's names on the back of the card. Here is the easy part, you don't have find a cross stitch pattern that is ATC dimension to sew. What you are going to do is grab any pattern you have an stitch a random 3.5 x 2.5ins worth of the pattern. You are also going to do the same on the inchie. The pattern you use on the ATC and the inchie don't have to be the same. Edit: You will have 1 partner, that is 1 ATC and 1 inchie per partner. Everyone is welcome with full profile. Please don't flake. But, if it happens I will angel.

What you will put on the back of the ATC and the inchie is this:

Theme: Cross Stitch ATC & Inchie

Title: Name of the Pattern

i would sign up if it was for 1, maybe 2 partners. no way i could do 4 cross-stitched ATC's and inchies in a month. even if i started before partner's were assigned, it's a lot. if you edit the number of partners, i will join.

Me too, 4 is way too many. Sorry.

happyturnip: is there anyway to edit this swap down a bit to make it 2 ATCs and inchies instead of 4? I'd sign up then...=^_^=

Ooooh, thank you for reducing the total sending. NOW I can join without fretting. Yay! I haven't been motivated to cross stitch in ages. Now to go digging thru the patterns/supplies in that box in the corner over there. Woo!

I have not done and inchie before - but I love cross stitch! So count me in - I had better get started on the stitching.

I have a question. I see that you attach the crossstitched 3.5x2.5 item to card stock. Do you attach the 1x1 inchie to fabric or leave it be? just cut the aida or what every you cross stitch on to 1x1? Sorry, I have never done this before, but I love cross stitching. Want to make sure I get it right. :-)

I love this idea! Not only are swaps brilliant, but I get to play with some unstitched charts of mine. :D

happyturnip 03/27/2008 #

Well, I think it would be best if you attach the aida to a cardstock so that it would be reinforced.

I'd love to do this! I don't have the time right now. I hope you do another in the future.

SallySparrow 04/ 1/2008 #

Have just finished the cross stitching - now just got to make them up. Phew! Just in time too!

FingersInc 04/27/2008 #

Oh, yes, if you do another in the future, I'd love to join in. I may just have to make up a couple in the mean time, just for the practice. thanks for the great idea !
